STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Person Centered Care Services (PCCS) hosted the inaugural “Tap Into Empowerment Conference,” the first Disability Empowerment Conference on Staten Island that demonstrated the value behind the lives of individuals living with intellectual disabilities.

The event also provided direct support from professionals on hand to assist those facing challenges.

The conference was held at the Jewish Community Center and featured three panel discussions and networking opportunities.

All told, there were more than 130 people in attendance from, State Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton’s Office to small businesses, where the focus was on equality, the future of workforce development and government advocacy issues, with a welcoming message by SIEDC CEO Mike Cusick.
